Today I’m sharing a really festive DIY that is as cute as it is delicious…I’m going to show you how to make an edible snow globe!  Really fun to have at each place setting on a holiday table or just make one for a Christmas Eve treat for Santa himself!  No matter how many you create, it’s a goodie that will be sure to make you and your guests smile!

edible snow globe sweetness…

what you’ll need:

small white plates (paper plates work fine)

small fishbowl vases

white chocolate round candies such as Lindt Truffles

1/4 C white baking bits, melted

Hershey’s Kisses

large sprinkles or small ball decorating candy

rainbow ropes or fruit rollups

orange gum drops

powdered sugar

decorating icing (optional)

do you wanna build a snowman?

to make the cute little snowman inside the edible snow globe you definitely need a “carrot” nose!  slice off a section of the gumdrop into a small triangle shape…

edible-snow-globe

you’ll also need two chocolate candies for each snowman…(you could substitute marshmallows for an easier version for kids)

and he’ll have to have arms so with a sharp knife carefully twist the tip into the white chocolate truffle to make two round indentations on each side of one candy…this is where the arms will go.

use the melted chocolate to adhere this piece to your plate…you’ll use this to “glue” all the embellishments on!

edible-snow-globe

add the second “snowball” to the top…

edible-snow-globe

a Hershey’s Kiss makes a sweet hat…with a candy ball for the pompom!  you may need to hold the embellishments in place for a second while the chocolate “glue” sets up.

edible-snow-globe

add the pretzel halves to the holes on the bottom candy, pressing very softly into the indentation.  don’t press too hard or you’ll pierce into the soft center of the Lindt chocolate!

next, add the “carrot” nose! you could create eyes & buttons with decorator icing but i opted to leave him as is…simple and cute!  sometimes icing can leave drips if you’re not experienced with it, like me!

edible-snow-globe

keep him warm!

the snowman in this edible snow globe certainly needs a fuzzy scarf!  i used Nerds ropes for some stripey fun…

edible-snow-globe

with kitchen scissors you can cut it into a thinner strip and fray the ends…

once you wrap it around his neck you can secure it with another dab of melted chocolate to keep it in place if necessary.

edible-snow-globe

now sprinkle on some powdered sugar to look like snow!

edible-snow-globe

carefully take the fishbowl and place it on top and you’ve got a darling snow globe…you can eat!

serve up some tasty snow globes this season!

Thank you Bri! They are so much fun and I find the 6″ bowl is easier to place on top than the smaller! Especially if his arms stick out far or the pom on the hat is big! Have fun if you make some!! xoxo
