Tag It!

Christmas is getting closer and if you’re anything like me this year…you might find yourself a bit behind!  Nothing wrong with that though!   In fact, it can be fun to finish all those final touches later in the month…it’s so festive in the house with the tree finally up and possibly some snow on the ground.  What better time to get in the holiday mood!  But that said, it’s easy to fall under some stress worrying about getting everything finished.  If you’ve got some wrapping to do, I’d like to share some simple gift tag fun!  Good for much more than just labeling a gift…you can decorate with them too!  Gift tags can be just as festive on a tree or on the table!  Take a peek at some last minute Christmas fun…and make your season bright!

more than just a label!

if you need some extra tags for your presents, i have a really simple and inexpensive way to create some that are a semi-DIY!  i love to pick up sheets of these sticky labels to have on hand.  this package came from Target…

sticker gift tags

they’re so easy and cute just the way they are…but if you don’t want to stick them directly to your package, just place it on a plain tag…one of my favorite things to have on hand!

gift tag

and how about tagging a gift without the paper variety?  even though there’s no name on this one…i don’t think anyone will confuse who it belongs to!  our pooch will be sure to sniff this one out!

milk bone tag

but back to the paper variety–these tags ARE actually place cards, but with a simple punch you can tie them to anything!  they will still label the seating at my holiday table, but attached to the stem of a goblet with some twine and tiny herb bundle, this tag looks extra festive!

place card

gift tags are so plentiful in the stores it’s practically impossible to not find some that you love!  how about these adorable tags with tassels from meri meri .  they’d make wonderful ornaments too…and are actually labeled that way!

gift tags

the great thing about tags is that they look just as sweet as decorations as at a place setting or on a package!  i just stuck these two into my urn using leftover cupcake picks…a REALLY simple display!

holiday display

and gift tags as ornaments are a much cheaper alternative to the real deal, especially if you’re decorating a themed tree!  see how cute these paper doves look on my Charlie Brown tree…

tiny tree

and a tiny tag tied to a toy animal makes a whimsical label for cookies on a “sweets & treats” table!

food lable

so don’t fret if you feel you’re running out of time!  let the simple tag help add some “merry and bright” to your season!

tag…it’s Christmas!

Hey! Love your blog and insta feed! I’m trying to make my own cigar band labels for my handmade soaps. I bought cardstock white paper but I’m having trouble with the logo design and cutting the labels. Can you give me any advice? Thanks! Intothewild Soapworks on instagram.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m not a print expert by any means but I really rely on my paper cutter to make even strips of paper with ease! If you find or design a logo you love it can be printed in the center of your stock and cut nicely with a decent cutter. Mine isn’t an expensive one either, just ask for some advice at the store where you purchase it. As far as designing the logo, there are lots of wonderful artists on line that can help with that if you need assistance. You can use instagram to find some or my friend Amy at Alice-Louise Press (also on IG) does digital work like that and she’s so talented! Good luck and I hope I was some help! See you on Instagram!
