Thinking Ahead to Easter Fun

I know St. Patrick’s Day hasn’t quite passed yet but it’s never too early to be thinking about all the festive springtime occasions that are headed our way!  And usually the Easter goodies are in the stores as soon as the lucky Leprechaun items hit the shelves which can make it easy to stock up early for those holiday celebrations to come!  You know by now that I can’t pass by the dollar spot shelves without spying an item or two that inspire me!  Such was the case when I found several bright and happy goodies that I plan to use for several family celebrations and throughout my home to create some springtime displays!  Today I’d like to share some easy projects you could use for a party or just to brighten your spaces for the upcoming season!  It can be really easy to pull together some Easter fun pretty effortlessly and I love to share DIY ideas that can double duty as fun kid projects too…so get ready to countdown the days to Easter with some fun and simple crafts!

springtime in the carrot patch!

i love all the pastels and pretty colors of springtime…but this year i’m drawn to the happy color combo of orange and green for a twist on my traditional Easter decor!  and lucky for me, there was plenty of that going on in my favorite shopping stop!  if you follow me on Instagram, you already know that i made a springtime mission for myself to create as many holiday crafts and displays with this collection of carrot goodness…and i have to admit i’ve been having fun with this challenge!

Easter goodies

simple DIY banner…

one of my favorite goodies in this bunch was the little wooden stickers in the shape of carrots!  i LOVE stickers in the first place because they make effortless, adorable embellishments for practically anything!  with a single piece of decorative paper leftover from a past party, i simply cut triangles to make a simple banner.  all i needed to do was stick the carrot in the center of each flag…so simple!!  and because i wanted to reuse the wooden carrots again, i merely trimmed around the plastic backing and attached them to the paper with a little washi tape!  this makes removing them so easy and saves not only the adhesive on the carrot but the paper banner too!

with the addition of some tissue paper tassels, this banner will be extra festive!  i just punched out some holes in the paper and strung the banner together alternating the triangles with the tassels…so simple!!

DIY Easter garland

i think it’s pretty cute and it was so easy to create with very few supplies!

carrot patch centerpiece…

i absolutely fell in love with the whimsical stuffed carrots…they came in a set of three so they’re not only darling but economical too!  i decided to create a centerpiece for my table that looks as colorful as it was easy to make!  a little green paper shred and a basket…and i’ve got a mini carrot patch growing!

DIY centerpiece

all i did was tuck those cuties into the shred!  and i used the leftover tassels to make a bright embellishment to the basket handle.  i love to remind everyone that you can always find more than one purpose for an item…don’t let the product description box you in!

tassel

i think it makes a wonderful and colorful addition to the centerpiece and stretched my dollar at the same time!

and that’s all it took to make a really simple centerpiece that’s bursting with springtime joy!
