I love to see inspiration for festive Valentine food!  Adding holiday touches is such a simple and sweet way to turn a snack, a treat table, or even a meal into something extra special!  So now that the “happy hearts” celebrations are just days away, I thought I’d share some fun finds and effortless ideas to create festive snacks for your favorite Valentines!  With this week so packed with holidays, the easier the better…in my opinion!  And easy never needs to mean less…at the end of the day it’s the thought that counts so make it simple but present it with love!  Get ready with these easy ideas…

i found these goodies at Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, but if you don’t have one nearby, check out your local grocer…they all carry wonderful holiday items these days!

pile your savory items on a board or platter, add some fresh herbs & fruit and you’ve got a pretty little appetizer!

you know how much i love semi homemade goodies…they just makes sense when you’re short on time!  i found these packages of darling, heart shaped candies…

these cupcakes, also from Fresh Thyme (one of my favorite, go-to places for quick & yummy cakes) were an easy way to add sugar to the table!

lunch time!

if you want to jazz up a simple lunch, i’ll show you some Valentine food that will be so fun to serve up!  i really love to create special, holiday meals for my family and this is one of my favorites!

what you’ll need:

white bread slices

wheat bread slices

pesto

lunch meat

cheese slices

butter

small holiday shaped cookie cutter

use the cookie cutter to remove a shape from each of the bread slices…

then insert the opposite color into the slice!  you can use any bread you like…just make sure the color is different so it will show!

grab your favorite deli choices & spreads…i love to use pesto in our grilled sandwiches and i’ll share my recipe at the end of the post!  but you can use any purchased pesto or spread your family will love!

Ingredients
Servings: 1/3 C servings
Instructions
  1. In a food processor blend the basil, garlic, and nuts.
  2. While processor is running, pour in the olive oil. Then add the cheeses, and salt and pepper and mix until well blended. Can add more oil if the mixture seems dry.
  3. Serve over fresh pasta or divide into 1/3 cup servings in freezer bags and freeze until ready to use. Will keep up to 6 months.
