Serving afternoon tea can be a tradition AND an excuse to visit with friends! One thing I love most is being able to hang out with my family and friends…and if I have the time, I also love to make these moments feel special!  Everyday celebrations are my absolute favorite…and they can be so much easier to plan and are equally as appreciated by guests as their larger counterpart!  I do like to make simple gatherings seem every bit as festive…and why not have a “party” as often as you can?  It sure makes me much happier…and it really isn’t hard or expensive to add the tiniest touches to turn almost any situation into a celebration!  I was so thrilled to get the chance to catch up with one of my friends the other day so I took that opportunity to create a little tea-for-two fun to show her how special she is to me!  Let me share with you the simple festivities…

you can turn ANY situation into a celebration and it doesn’t require hosting a huge event…it can be something as simple as sharing a tea with a friend or two!  you don’t need fancy food or drink…just tiny touches that can be as easy as using pretty fabric napkins, cutting fresh flowers, or adding a tiny, decorative tag to an item you’re serving!

a little tag embellished with a bee sticker makes a really fun addition to the adorable honey jars!  i simply made a “flight pattern” following my friend’s name with my sharpie marker.  and i love the fact you can bend the little guy’s wings to give it a 3-D appearance!  all dressed up, these cute pots make really sweet place cards AND favors…

these “vases” are actually paper luminary bags but i thought they’d look casually wonderful filled with flowers!  i just dropped a mason jar with water down inside.  a unique way to make inexpensive floral centerpieces for the table!  you could substitute with pretty posies inside a simple jar…check out some ideas here

i was serving tea but i also picked up something cold to go along with it…especially since it’s summer and a cool refreshment might be appreciated!  this elderflower lemonade is so delicious and a dainty drink to serve to gals…and how cute is the bottle?!

some sugar & honey spoons are a fun addition to the table…i just tucked them down inside a clear vase…

a super simple snack of raspberry wafer cookies was all i served up with the tea.  sometimes simple can be best.  a tiny plate holds the cookies, tea bags, and spoons…
