New Year’s Eve Celebrations…Charcuterie Style!

December 27

New Year’s Eve celebrations are just days away…but you can still party in grand style with an easy charcuterie that will be certain to impress!  Charcuterie boards are one of my favorite appetizers because they’re super simple to put together even for a last-minute party!  While a “true” charcuterie would mean a platter full of meats…the definition to many has gradually changed to a “grazing board”.  This means you can now add just about ANYTHING you want to your edible display!  New Year’s Eve is a perfect opportunity to create this beautiful array of goodies to serve to friends and family.  Pull together all the leftover treats from Christmas and serve them right on the tabletop…no special trays or platters needed!  I’m really excited to partner with Fun to Eat Fruit to bring you some inspiration for sipping and nibbling the night away!  I promise it’s easy and simple but will look every bit as festive as the holiday itself!  The year is coming to an end and I’ll wrap it up with my favorite phrase…celebrate simple and celebrate often!

A Casual Summertime Wine Tasting!

A wine tasting is a fun idea for a festive evening with friends!  And while it might seem daunting, you don’t have to be a sommelier to serve up some samplings of vino!  My husband and I recently joined a casual wine group designed to discover new favorites and at reasonable prices.  Honestly it’s really just an excuse to get together regularly with our friends!  And while a true wine connoisseur might scoff at our little soiree, I love that it’s relaxed, where we can learn a little about wine and enjoy the company A LOT!  Today I’m sharing our turn at hosting…and since it took place during Memorial Day weekend, I added some patriotic touches too!  So let’s raise a glass…

cheers to wine tasting!

Super Bowl Sunday is just days away and it happens to be one of my family’s most awaited game nights…for the good food, football fun…and the commercials of course!  Each year we whip up a big batch of wings and nestle in for a warm & cozy evening in!  Sometimes it’s just us, sometimes we include friends…but either way, we celebrate a festive evening of heart-pounding fun! (even though my youngest is really the only TRUE sports enthusiast in the family!)   Shortly before kickoff I set up a cheerful spread of traditional game day goodies…but this year I’m adding a good dose of healthy to the table!  And even though the boys in the house will require some wings on the menu, I’m really excited to share these healthier options that will be a definite win!

Halloween festivities have come to an end but autumn still has more to offer!  How about treating your family and friends to a fall s’mores bar by the fire?  S’mores seem to be everyone’s favorite, fall snack and I can see why!  It’s such a seasonal delight to be fireside on a cool, crisp evening with a roasting stick in hand!  And once that mallow is toasted to your heart’s desire and sandwiched between chocolate & crunchy graham crackers…it’s hard not to have your mouth water with anticipation of that first gooey bite!  So I think it’s fair to say that a s’more will NEVER disappoint!  I’m sure you’ve probably seen some of the different ways this treat is now served up with a twist…you can let your creativity and your taste buds go wild!  The traditional s’more is always a hit but why not try some fun combinations for an extra special treat!  Get ready to savor the season…

I just love Halloween!  I have to control my urges to fill up my shopping cart with all the spooky goodies when I see them…and I HAVE controlled myself lately!  I found that I can get the same amount of enjoyment just browsing through those holiday isles…almost!  But the other day I found a treat that I really couldn’t pass up…something festive, perfect for the season, AND edible!  The only problem is they’re such a favorite that it might be hard to keep them on hand for very long!  I’ve had to replace mine several times and decided to hide all the extras so I have plenty for more Halloween entertaining!  What might this wonderful find be, you might ask?  Check it out and see for yourself…munchy, crunchy, cheesy

good old bags of bones!
