A January Centerpiece with Natural Elements

January 14

A January centerpiece is lovely to create especially after all the holiday magic is packed away until next December.  The New Year is the perfect time for a refresh in the home, with simplicity and calm…and a centerpiece that represents that feeling can take the stage on the table for everyone to enjoy!  Today I’d like to share a simple DIY that incorporates natural elements that nod to winter and spring.  This make the perfect January display until you’re ready for Valentines Day or all the pretty spring blooms to take over.  Dark, snowy days can be brightened with live houseplants that simply remind us that a new season is on the way!  But until it arrives, we can still enjoy the coziness of winter in a fresh way.

I took a blogging break this fall through the holidays and it was the perfect time to rediscover the direction of projects I’ll be sharing this year.  You’ll still see easy entertaining and decorating inspo but focused on reusing, recycling, and even foraging for simple beauties found in nature.  Treasure hunting is also a personal passion and I’ll incorporate those finds more in all my celebrations and home projects.  Recent trips to France have reinvigorated my enthusiasm for utilizing all my well loved, collected items that might become family heirlooms.  Not because they’re worth so much monetarily but because they’ve helped create treasured memories…in finding them AND using them!  Vintage pieces somehow make time feel like it slows even just for an evening. So these are the things I will hold dear in 2026 and look forward to sharing with you!  Now, let’s get back to the simple centerpiece made easy with elements of nature tucked in…

Crafting with friends is one of my favorite things to do! Not only is it a chance to get creative but to catch up with my pals!  Late summer is such a great season to craft with natural items right from the backyard.  Pine cones, leaves, and acorns are plentiful this time of year making it easy to come up with endless supplies, making it an affordable activity too! I’m excited to share some easy ideas for hosting a tiny craft party for friends or for your kiddos too!  It’s really fun to see each person put their own creativity to work.  So gather together and make something pretty with the help of Mother Nature!

DIY art projects are very popular these days especially during stay-at-home orders.  If you’re like me, I’m searching for ways to keep home life as normal as possible and that includes decorating my spaces.  And while online shopping is available, crafting is a great way to save money AND fill the hours!  I’ve been inspired by some of my social media friends who have framed old calendars to create beautiful wall art.  Fortunately I happened to save a lovely 2019 calendar that I had received as a gift from a girlfriend!  So I decided to give it a second life!   Let me share with you how simple this craft can be, and if you don’t have a calendar on hand, try kid artwork, pages from a favorite book, or even scraps of fabric or pretty craft paper!  Let’s get crafting so we can keep busy and create!
