I can’t believe that the final days of school are upon us!  It seems like yesterday that we were heading out to back-to-school-open houses…and here we are wrapping up the school year!  If you find yourself headed to graduation parties over the next several weeks, I have a fun gift idea to share with you!  I wish I could claim this one, but it came from a creative Giggle client who thought of this wonderful gift idea that’s adorable, thoughtful, useful, and won’t break the bank! (especially if you’ve got lots of graduates on your list this year!)  I just loved this idea and had to share it!  So if you know any students ready to head off to college, take a peek…

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  It’s the official start to summer and all the fun that goes with it!  We begin the new season with a long weekend of parades, backyard barbeques, and gatherings of friends and families to celebrate each other and remember all those who’ve served, and those who currently protect our country!  Keeping it short and simple today, I just want to share some fun, patriotic supplies I intend on using now…and carry forward into July celebrations.  Take a peek at these red, white, & blue goodies that you can still get for last minute Memorial Day celebrations or tuck them away for the 4th of July!

Blooming Stripes!

If you saw any of the posts about the Giggle Spring Show you may have noticed all the stripey mason jars!  I love canning jars for a multitude of uses…they make great storage options, cute vases, pencil holders–and the list goes on!  Right now I’m infatuated with painted ones…particularly the stripes!  So I not only created plenty for the show–but I have a fair amount around my own home!  They’re really easy to paint to match your decor and they look especially fresh and fun on the patio!  I added a little springtime to my dining room buffet with nothing more than a collection of mason jars painted with stripes…filled with blooms and candle light!

Window Garden

One of my girlfriends asked me to make her some garden tags for her windowsill herbs…and I jumped at the chance to create something fun for her mini garden!  She already had a vision of a printed banner pick…which is perfectly fine for plants living indoors.  Knowing the garden markers didn’t need to resist the elements made the material selection open to more options…including  printed paper!  So off to the craft store I went in search of something to create the base of her garden tags that would suit her style and personality!  I love shopping for “unknown” items…it keeps my mind open and is usually a situation of “I’ll know it when I see it”–and I saw it!  Today I want to share this DIY for indoor garden markers…or make one for a cake topper or anything else you can think of! Take a peek at this fun and easy craft…

The Water Closet

I love to decorate…but the only room that’s not my favorite to focus on is the bathroom.  Not that there aren’t thousands of gorgeous baths featured on Pinterest…all lovely and equally beautiful as any other living area in the home…but I still find it hard to get thrilled about my personal bathroom spaces!  If you’re doing a complete gut job and have a hefty budget to go along with it, I don’t doubt a bath re-do would be enjoyable!  But sometimes working with what you’ve got just isn’t as much fun…and let’s face it–how crazy can the average person really get when decorating a bathroom?  You’ve got a place to wash, a place to brush & polish, and a place to–well, you know.  So in a situation like mine, there’s not a ton of creative decorating freedom to be had in the bathroom!  Like most of the rooms in our old house, the master bath follows suit…offering little space and no storage!  I tried to come up with something that could creatively hold our towels and toiletries, still look pretty, and not cost a bundle!  Have a peek at some little bath details…

Spring brings with it lots of celebrations…and celebrations often go hand-in-hand with gifts and favors!  Today I’d like to share a fun DIY project that will keep you at the ready for any festive event with hand painted tags to tie to all your presents!  Whether you’re giving graduation gifts or simple offerings of thanks…these sweet tags will make anything look special!  A fun project that most kids could do too…take a peek at how easy it is to create a tiny piece of art!

Bloom!

On Monday we celebrated our teachers by hosting an annual Spring Luncheon as a “thank you” from all the parents!  A simple gesture, but much appreciated by the teachers and staff…and a fun excuse to come up with festive decorations to help make them feel special!  The theme was “bloom”…a vision of springtime but also a word representative of how our teachers help cultivate our students over the years–the end result being each child blooming to their full potential!  With very modest decorations it was easy to make the school library look fresh for spring and show our teachers just how much we appreciate all they do!

A recent visit to a friend’s home was filled with inspiration for me! I could share so many things about her beautiful house…and I will definitely be posting some of her breath-taking and positively inspirational spaces in the future!  But today I want to share an idea from her home that isn’t so much what she did…but how she did it!  She turned a simple and utilitarian process into a lovely creation…combining purpose with beauty!

I am on an organizing kick!  I think it’s the changing seasons…spring always makes me want to clean house, de-clutter, and try to organize my un-organized areas…which seem to be getting more plentiful!  I know a lot of you feel the same way…about organizing…and when I see something I love, I can’t wait to share!  I found the cutest jewelry organizer that’s not only functional but looks fresh and modern!  Have a peek at today’s favorite find…

Antiquing We Will Go…

It’s almost time to hit the road for some antique flea markets and good old yard sales! I’m so excited that the weather has just begun to get warmer…and  I’m all geared up for the outdoor “junking”!  But on the days the rain drops are falling or the temps just aren’t “perfect”…there’s always the antique mall!  Packed with trinkets & treasures, furniture & collectibles, and almost everything you can imagine–the mall is available all year for the antique addict like me!  A stroll down the isles isn’t quite like an outdoor market…but it’s no less the fun and always full of wonder!
