Setting a colorful Thanksgiving table can be a fun and extra cheerful way to celebrate the holiday! I LOVE to decorate with bright hues throughout this season. After all, the autumn landscape is often speckled with plenty of vibrant color! And in many areas you can still find a few flowers or greens in the garden to compliment a simple tablescape in rustic style! Today I’d like to share some simple ideas for mixing and matching different styles and tableware to create a beautiful, custom table that will let your personality shine! Shopping my house before I entertain always turns up favorite goodies I’ve forgotten about or haven’t used in a long time. And if you’re lucky enough to have family or close friends who love to entertain…try shopping their house too! You might find you can share decor for special occasions and help each other stretch a budget AND set a pretty tabletop! This is exactly what I was able to do with my fall display. So let’s set the Thanksgiving table…
serve up a colorful holiday!
fall is such a beautiful time of year to celebrate the turning colors…so why not on the table too?
the borrowed, vibrant lanterns became the inspiration for this colorful, Thanksgiving table!
never shy away from mixing styles. not only is it pretty, but it creates a relaxed atmosphere!
the lanterns are a bit Moroccan, the table is rustic…
the plates are very farmhouse style, but everything blends beautifully!
when you have blended styles, it gives you more freedom to mix all the tableware…so use what you’ve got!
you can easily add fall details to the table by scattering mini pumpkins around…they’re still plentiful and often on sale in November!
a few flowers make a nice pairing with those pretty gourds! this little vase holds the last from my garden…
you can stretch your flowers by setting several smaller vases on the table. so if you only have a few blooms left in your yard, use a couple little containers rather than a single big one…
clusters of greens, gourds and lanterns down the table look just as grand as an elaborate centerpiece!
consider adding individual vases of herbs & edible flowers to each place setting…they’re adorable AND guests can enhance their meal!!
a pretty array of color on the table doesn’t have to be perfectly matched…
to create a perfect atmosphere! so set the table with color…
and watch your guests smile!
