I LOVE peppermint!  And to me, nothing taste like Christmastime more than that minty flavor topping my cocoa, chocolate treats, or even in my coffee on winter mornings!  Well you can imagine my happy surprise when my cousin-in-law brought a festive treat to our family gathering last weekend…a simple dip that will make your mouth water the moment you smell it’s sweet scent!  A new discovery for me…and I’m positive I’ll be making plenty of it this holiday!  I want to share this recipe for a decadent treat…and bonus!–it’s so simple and easy you’ll be able to whip it up at the drop of a hat and share with all your holiday callers!  So grab a pencil..and add these ingredients to your shopping list!

put into a serving dish, cover, and chill.  you can make it ahead too…it’s even better if it sits overnight!  but if you CAN’T wait– it’s delicious even if it only chills an hour or so!  you and your guests will be in for a wonderful treat!

…how about dishing up some single servings for hostess gifts or favors?

gift/favor

i found some tiny glass bowls at the grocery store and thought they’d make perfect containers for holding the dip!  a baggie of chocolate shortbread cookies makes a cute AND tasty accompaniment!

JOY!

…or just serve it up!

my family enjoyed this dip last weekend with chocolate graham crackers…but they were sold out at the store so i just substituted chocolate animal crackers!

and if you like a little salty/sweet combo…pretzels are perfect!  i love these pretzel “spoons”–just right for dipping!

…and they look so cute in this x-mas tree baking pan!  lucky for me (and my guests) i hosted a meeting at my house and had the opportunity to whip up a batch of this out-of-this-world dip!  needless to say there were several requests for the recipe!
