I don’t know about you but I’m REALLY ready for spring and summer entertaining!  I tend to jump the gun a bit when it comes to seasonal decorating…but I just can’t help myself!  Easter preparations are getting me excited for spring…but I’m also already dreaming of lazy summertime days on the patio with family and friends!  So today I’m jumping ahead a bit and sharing some whimsical & unexpected ideas for some under the sea inspired fun.  A sunny yellow color palette, sea inspired nibbles, and classic cocktails just might have you believing that summer is just around the corner! I’ve partnered with several wonderful vendors and am so excited to share with you these ideas that are as easy as they are cheerful!  So let the sun shine on your next party…

with an under the sea party celebration!

it’s too cold in my neck of the woods to be entertaining outside…so a sunny window was the next best place for my party table!

the bright yellow Chandelier by NK acrylic chandelier was the inspiration for this unique twist on an under the sea setup!  often you think of blues and aqua for this party theme…but this handsome, yellow fellow was just too cute to not influence my color scheme!

cocktails & swizzles!

not only did the sweet octopus influence my color choices…but the swizzle sticks too!

how adorable are these Note Worthy Paper Place cuties that whimsically crown some icy Pina Coladas…the yummiest, summertime drink, in my opinion!

and speaking of Pina Colada…this flavored corn by Grand Rapids Popcorn was the perfect nibbling choice!

not only is it the happiest color but the cocktail inspired flavor is absolutely out of this world!  it DEFINITELY will be on my munching menu this summer!!

if you have an under the sea party with an octopus as the star of the show, what better to serve than calamari!  cocktail cups are filled with the deep fried delicacies and served up on a pretty Amalfi Decor cake stand!  the crystal gives a sparkly touch, just like the shimmer on the waves!

a tiny cup filled with dipping sauce is nestled down inside for fun, individual servings!

and what goes better with calamari but some mini seafood sandwiches!

i just hollowed out some Hawaiian rolls and filled them full of a classic seafood salad!

a little sprig of dill on top and you have a good looking treat that’s as easy to make as it is delicious!

something sweet!

i believe every party table needs a little extra sugar…so cookies and cupcakes are an easy & tasty choice!  stacked on another crystal stand are some colorful cakes…

topped with a gumball to resemble an oyster’s pearl!  a fun way to tie in the party theme with little effort!

and tiny snickerdoodle cookies topped with almond slices resemble sand dollars…

so easy to do…just take a tiny dollop of icing to adhere the almonds right to the cookie!  you can even use purchased snickerdoodles to save time!  such a fun & simple way to add a “custom” cookie to your party table!

flowers add such beauty to any event…big or small!  this arrangement gets a boost from adding some unexpected greenery to the flowers…kale and dill!  don’t forget to check out the produce section for greens that will not only save you some money but will look unique!

i love how the dill in the flowers ties into the tiny sandwiches too!  a small detail that can make a big impact!

so if you’re as ready for summer as i am…i hope you loved this little soiree!  the seasons keep changing and that only means more opportunities to celebrate with the ones we love!

  2. So many details to LOVE in this party set up – the oyster topped cupcakes, the dill in the floral arrangement, the seafood salad tucked into hollowed out bread, the popcorn flavor and of course the inspiration from the yellow octopus chandelier. Just perfect and I’m dreaming of summer now.

I love this party so much! Those octopus chandeliers are so incredible and the stir sticks are just too cute. I’m in LOVE with the idea of pina colada popcorn (you may remember my weakness for the stuff) and I’ve never seen the Amalfi crystal stand! ooh la la. This table is a winner. I just want to know what time the part is!

Thanks so much Bri!! I adore that sweet chandelier and the stir sticks were a perfect match! Such talented ladies! And YOU WOULD LOVE that popcorn! Even my hubby loves it and he’s actually more of a savory popcorn guy! I’m truly going to use it for summer parties!! And aren’t those crystal stands amazing? You just might be seeing more of those soon!! 😉

Lori, this is so well-done! I love the octopus theme and I like how you use this design element to offset the formal floral arrangement!
