The holidays give us so many opportunities to set up our tables with great food and festivity! We love to share ideas for table settings that are easy and inexpensive so that the focus of your event can be the joy of guests and not so much on the preparations! Always remember you don’t have to sacrifice elegance to be thrifty! This example of a place setting and centerpiece is lovely for the New Year celebrations to come in a few short days…and created with many common supplies! If you are still entertaining guests this holiday we hope you can take some inspiration from this easy set-up!
let’s set a table…
this simple theme of gold and greens uses common items in unexpected ways
centerpieces in goblets hold simple greens and prancing deer
inexpensive plastic deer were sprayed gold and glued to a striped straw…looking reminiscent of a carousel animal, these whimsical arrangements make a captivating holiday display! and if you don’t have styrofoam for container arranging…sand, pebbles or even dry beans can work to help secure your design…(fish tank pebbles were used in these)
a simple wood box works perfectly to to show off a garden of meringue mushrooms
straws, bells and gift tags make up the “poles”
(with a little help from a glue gun!)
tiny deer from the doll house section of a craft store sit sweetly on mini cupcakes!
white sprinkles, looking like snow, and a gift tag dress the dessert plate…
neutral dishes are a great place to start…mix & match with just about anything
a napkin folded to hold the silverware looks lovely…
tied with simple twine and a jingle bell…
party poppers at each plate can be a fun addition to any dinner party!
(we’ll talk more about those on Monday!)
such simple ingredients together make an elegant setting!
often times we have what we need to create a lovely table…right in our own pantry! start with what you’ve got, embellish if you need, never worry about rules, and…
let’s set the table!
