Krispie Treats are a fan favorite among kid party-goers…and I think it’s fair to say they’re a favorite with the adulting type too! There’s something so delicious about such a simple treat, and isn’t it wonderful that they’re so easy to whip up with ingredients most of us already have in the pantry! Krispie Treats are honestly one of my favorite go-to snacks for any occasion and it’s so easy to have a little festive fun cutting them into holiday shapes or tinting them with color! Today I’ve done both of those things with my Valentine Krispies…but I went a little further with an effortless twist that makes them even more amazing! Check out this easy treat that’s so yummy that your family might gobble them up before you’re even done making them!
love Krispie Treats even more…with Nutella!
all you need to do to make these delicious, sandwich treats is make a batch of regular rice krispie treats. then you can have some fun with color! if you want to tint the treats don’t be bashful with the food coloring. it won’t appear as vivid once you add the cereal to the melted marshmallows so go ahead and colorful!
press out the cereal mix in a thin layer onto a piece of parchment paper. (i actually still use non-stick spray to make removing the treats even easier!) you can also add an assortment of sprinkles or candies while the treats are still warm…
i used some mini marshmallows, heart quin sprinkles and a favorite pink sprinkle mix!
make sure to let the krispies cool COMPLETELY before cutting out your shapes…otherwise you’ll have a sticky mess!
now comes the extra delicious part…
spread a thin (or thick) layer of nutella onto the non decorated side of a heart…
put two hearts together and simply make a sweet & chocolatey sandwich! you could use peanut butter, jelly, frosting or any kind of spread your family loves!
bag them up for gifts…or just eat them! either way, these will be a treat that makes everyone happy…so go ahead and serve up some Valentine cheer!
make your peeps smile…
with Nutella Krispie Treats!
