A Springtime Breakfast Treat on the Patio!

A springtime breakfast treat can be a fun and delicious way to celebrate the season!  When warm weather comes calling, I love eating outdoors…and that includes morning treats!  You know I preach that things never have to be crazy elaborate to look & taste great…and this tiny but cheerful breakfast is a perfect example!  For this sweet treat I focused on one of my favorite snacking fruits as the simple inspiration. Cutie clementines not only taste great but they make beautiful garnishes for drinks AND sweets alike!  Grab a few pretty decorations from the house to bring a touch of the inside out, and let a small spread bring big joy!  I’m excited to bring these ideas to you today with the help from friends at Lucid Candle.  Their pretty candles are really exceptional and a perfect addition to any decor or celebration…like my little soiree!  So lets say “good morning sunshine”…

A simple Easter is what most of us will be experiencing this year.  And though there won’t big gatherings with family & friends, we can still find ways to make the holiday special!  Today I’m sharing some of the easy ideas and recycled decorations that I’ll be using to make our day extra festive while we’re quarantined at home.  Since we have nowhere to go and an abundance of time, I LOVE the idea of extra gatherings around our table on Easter Sunday.  So this year I’ll be serving two holiday meals!  We’ll start the day with a casual brunch and I’d like to share with you how I’ll be setting the table AND our favorite breakfast casserole!  So get ready to shop your house for decorations you can use to make a simple celebration feel anything but!

Coffee Bar Styling for Fall!

A coffee bar is a wonderful addition to any breakfast or brunch gathering!  If you’re hosting any kind of event during the wee morning hours, coffee is a drink most guests will appreciate!  You can include other beverage alternatives too…but the basic idea is to set up a self-serve station that’s easy!  Today I’m sharing how I used my patio buffet to create an outdoor coffee bar to celebrate fall!  The great thing about this kind of treat table is that you can honestly set one up anywhere…a countertop or any piece of furniture that will hold the goods will do.  Add in some simple pastries for guests to indulge on and maybe a seasonal decoration or two and you have a morning treat that will start the day on a sweet note (and a kick of caffeine)!  So let’s raise a cup of joe to fall AND styling a simple coffee bar!

Serve a Christmas Breakfast!

We celebrate with several traditions during the holiday but one of my favorites is serving a Christmas breakfast!  It doesn’t have to happen on Christmas morning…in fact that could prove to be chaotic!  But during the month of December I’ll often set up a cheerful buffet of easy & delicious serve-yourself goodies…and it’s especially fun to do when there’s visiting kids in the house!  This year’s fun was inspired by my passion for plaid…and a twist on a familiar reindeer!  I’m excited to share these ideas in collaboration with some talented friends so you can help your peeps wake up to a GOOD MORNING!

Breakfast “Thank You”

Saturday turned out to be a wonderful morning for a breakfast on the patio with the girls who volunteered to be on my decorating committee for After Prom.  We’ve been working hard to come up with all the decorations for this school function happening next weekend!  The After Prom Party has been a tradition at our school for years and a wonderful way to keep our kids safe and entertained for the late-night hours following the Prom!  It has actually become quite an event which requires loads of work from all the committee members to create a memorable evening.  And like most school events, it also requires sticking within a budget.  This means lots of pounding the pavement for donations and in the case of our committee, also a TON of hands-on crafting and finagling of props to create the biggest bang for our buck!  We started brain-storming last fall and have been working toward this event ever since!  My committee has put in plenty of personal time…and we also have the biggest, single chunk of time approaching when we begin the process of setting up on Friday!  So to show my appreciation for all the assistance from my friends, I decided that a “thank you” breakfast might be a nice idea!  So Saturday it was, a morning of thankful fun!  The early hours of the day did require a sweater, but it turned to be a fabulous way to begin the weekend…sipping warm coffee, munching on breakfast goodies, and spending time catching up on things other than After Prom!  I’m so grateful for all their help…it really has been a collaboration!

a simple gesture of thanks…
